Marfa Guitar
9 string electro-acoustic baritone in Indian rosewood, cedar, fish skin, abalone, and oil satin finish.
This guitar was a commission from a professional musician who knew exactly what he needed for his playing for years, but couldn't find it out there. This is still my favorite built yet, the vast range of tone was a great challenge and the driving force behind a lot of design decisions. The silhouette, f-holes shape and material choices are the same as the West Village bass model made couple years prior, since this guitar is a baritone that goes to low C, it shares a lot of common denominator with the bass archetype, bass strings are actual used for the lower 3 strings. I cannot wait to build another one, this instrument was such a beautiful adventure.
