Cobble Hill parlor guitar

Californian striped cedar soundboard, kiaat sides and back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, rustic oil and open pores finish, mother of pearl and silver inlays. 24.5" scale. Pictures by John Deputy.

This parlor guitar was an early exploration on wood alternatives. This silhouette is a classic Martin shape but with an unconventional wood combo, kiaat and domestic striped cedar, in order to do an apple to apple sound comparison with the traditional wood choice. This guitar has a well rounded sound, especially in her bass-range response. This instrument is still very actively played in Brooklyn for over 9 years straight now.
